Bio

Elvira McLeod is an IDTS certified Advanced Dance Teacher and choreographer who has been in the dance world for over 15 years. Elvira grew up having been trained by some of the most well known and renowned dancers and choreographers in the country. She is now a coach to competitive dance teams and is a guest choreographer and teacher around the Toronto GTA. Along with this, she is also an experienced performer, being featured in Toronto's 1234 DanceArts with Aim Toronto and Toronto's Rising Star. Both her performances and her choreography have been recognized, receiving scholarships to AMDA and CDNC along with receiving multiple choreography and highest scoring awards at competitions both region and nation wide.

Elvira is well rounded in her career, being as along with her dance training abilities and choreography, she is also skilled in video production for dance, music mixing, video editing, and music theory.
Along with her RAD Intermediate Foundation Ballet Certification, Elvira is also certified in ISSA Group Fitness Training and is currently a fitness instructor alongside her dance profession. She is an experienced choreographer in various dance styles, and most well known for her hiphop, open, jazz funk and contemporary choreography.

Elvira became interested in an urban fusion between hip-hop and contemporary, that incorporates the classic street styles of popping and animation with the fluidity and emotion of modern day contemporary. She believes in combining creativity and passion with strength and perseverance when teaching dance, while also maintaining an open and comfortable relationship between dancers in order to allow the mental well being of students to be a priority alongside their discipline.
